About PSAT

The Preliminary SAT, or PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), serves as a practice version of the SAT.

Students can take the PSAT once per year, typically in 10th and 11th grades. Scoring high on the PSAT in junior year may qualify you for a National Merit Scholarship, with $180 million awarded annually.

The PSAT lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes, assessing skills in reading, writing, and Math, with a maximum score of 1520, lower than the SAT’s highest score.

Learning process

How it works

Step 1

 Evaluation of Pre-Requisites

We assess your child's readiness, providing an opportunity for both parent and teacher to determine the mutual alignment and student requiremoents.

Step 2

Course Plan

We design a personalized course plan to suit your child's PSAT/SAT exam preparation needs. This course plan is shared with parents and our teachers.

Step 3

PSAT/SAT Tuition

Your child’s classes are scheduled based on your preferred batch, providing maximum flexibility. Each lesson is reinforced with targeted assignments and tests at the end of every topic, ensuring a solid grasp of the material and steady progress.

Step 4

Mock Tests

10 mock tests under simulated real exam conditions will be held at the end of the course to boost your child's confidence.

PSAT Made Simple and Fun

Our 4 step process

1.

Cover every topic thoroughly

We make sure every topic is thoroughly covered to meet test requirements. If students are missing any prerequisites, we creatively address those gaps without straying from the current subject.

Exam

3.

Realistic Practice Tests

Our educators meticulously design practice problems that combine PSAT/SAT exam questions with exercises that challenge both time management and application skills. This method reinforces essential concepts, reduces response time, and enhances problem-solving abilities, empowering students to master the material with confidence.

Math Formulas and a Calculator

2.

Clear all doubts and confusion

We provide SAT-level graded exercises after each lesson to clarify doubts and reinforce understanding. This approach ensures that students are well-prepared and confident about the topics and difficulty levels they may face during the exam.

4.

Mock Tests for Exam Readiness

We offer 5 mock tests designed to simulate the exam environment, ensuring students become familiar with the format and types of questions they will face. These practice tests help build confidence, improve time management, and identify areas for improvement. By the end of these sessions, students are fully prepared and exam-ready.

FAQ's

  • Smaartkidz offers a free demo session for each student to explore a subject.  When they get enrolled, regular sessions are organized with a custom plan based on their availability.

  • We first assess the student’s individual needs and design a customized lesson plan, then we assign a proficient tutor who is specifically chosen to meet those needs.

  • No, Smaartkidz's policy states that refunds are not available after the sessions have started. Students must complete a minimum number of sessions, and any payments made are non-refundable.

  • Yes, students have the opportunity to attend demo sessions for all subjects offered at Smaartkidz. This allows them to explore different subjects and find the best fit for their learning needs.

  • Students can take the SAT as many times as they want. College Board recommends that they take it at least twice—in the spring of their junior year and the fall of their senior year.

Most students get a higher score the second time, and most colleges consider a student's highest SAT score when making admission decisions.

  • Most students take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade, though some schools also offer it to 10th graders. The test can only be taken once per school year.

Many scholarship programs consider only the junior year PSAT/NMSQT score for eligibility.

The PSAT/NMSQT is designed to be grade appropriate for 10th and 11th graders.

  • Eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program is generally limited to certain students, typically those in the 11th grade, as outlined in the PSAT/NMSQT Student Guide.

  • If you are taking the test for the first time and want to score 1490+, you should ideally begin your preparation 24 weeks before the exam.

However, if you have already taken it earlier give yourself 5–12 weeks to prepare. We'll provide you a free full–length practice exam and wrap–up course session immediately before your test if you prep with us. We can also assist you if you're unsure about when to take the PSAT.

  • Students sign up at their high school, not through the College Board. Your child should talk to their school counselor in September to learn about their school's PSAT/NMSQT registration process.

Some high schools require you to register online, while others ask students to sign up in person. Contact your school counselor for PSAT registration deadlines and details.

If you're an international or homeschooled student, you must find a high school that offers the PSAT and register to take the test there.

  • Our sales team will provide the online link once you select a course & then you can make the fee payment via the link- following the instructions.
